Fixing the Runcam Split Card Error problem
On my first flights with a Runcam Split S4 a high-G turn would result in a “card error” or “write error”. Here are a couple of steps to uninterrupted video recording.
Hornet Maiden Flight
All system checks completed. Time for a gentle first flight to see if it holds together!

After a month of construction my Hornet drone is now completed, and ready to fly! It comes in at 165 grams without battery, or about 270 grams with a battery.
Adding a Runcam Split S 4 to an Armattan Gecko frame
The Armattan Gecko 3″ frame has a 20 x 20 mm mounting pattern, and the Runcam Split S 4 has a 25.5 x 25.5 mm mounting pattern, so by default they don’t fit.

It’s 3″ time
Time for a new drone build … enter the Hornet build, based upon the Armattan Gecko 3″ frame. Capable of running on 4S LIPOs but supporting a RunCam Split 4 4K instead of a GoPro.
Drone Loss
Rest in peace for the two year old Cragon – crashed in an inaccessible location in the Swiss mountains. It suffers the curse of the Cragon v1, which crashed and drowned into a river
