The Betaflight current sensor scale can be tuned to reflect the power consumption of your drone, avoiding misleading capacity utilization reporting during flight. An accurate way of doing this is to fly the drone and record both the amount used during the flight and the amount replaced when charging the battery. The Betaflight scale can then be adjusted.

Here are instructions on how to perform the calibration. To ensure a consistent scale setting, it’s worth performing the calibration a several times with a couple of different batteries.




Useful calculator. Current sensor calibration is easy to overlook, but getting the mAh numbers close makes Betaflight logs and OSD data much more trustworthy when reviewing a tune or checking battery performance. I like pairing this kind of calibration with a short Blackbox log so pilots can compare voltage sag, throttle behavior, and tune changes with better context. That log-based review flow is the reason we built FPVTune.
Nice calculator. I like that it uses capacity from OSD/blackbox instead of guessing from feel. One thing I would add for tuning workflow is to save a short baseline Blackbox log before and after changing current-sensor scale, filters, Dynamic Idle, or PID values, so later troubleshooting has a clean reference point.
